In the first house the plans didn t account for the depth of the fireplace or built ins on the fireplace wall. So once the fireplace was framed out and the built in cabinetry installed we had two feet of drywall on the left side of the windows and about 6 visible on the right. I used 1 x 4 pine wood around the tile and mitered it in the corners. You ll need just a few supplies and tools to get the job done. This is also a budget project that you can do for just 50 and in a few hours time. We built a frame much like a small wall and attached it to the studs on the wall.
